Andrea's merited STAR on The Walk of Fame
ANDREA BOCELLI'S CONCERT AT LAJATICO, A SHORT 5KM FROM ORCIATICO.
Once a year, usually in the month of July, a whole Tuscan village becomes a theatrical parterre, for presenting the Teatro del Silenzio (Theatre of Silence) which honorary chairman is Andrea Bocelli, the tenor born in Lajatico who took the Italian melody in the whole world. Teatro del Silenzio is not a place but an extraordinary one evening event, taking place in a village which design is so harmonious that it seems a theatre. The event each year features many well-known artists, authors, critics and musicians, who perform together with Andrea Bocelli.
THE EARLY YEARS
Born on September 22nd, 1958, Andrea grew up on the family farm in Lajatico, a close knit farming community set among the vineyards and olive groves of rural Tuscany. The farm includes a small vineyard, from which Andrea's father, Sandro, produced a small quantity of "Chianti Bocelli." Displaying rare musical gifts from an early age, Andrea's parents nurtured and encouraged his talents with formal piano lessons from the age of six, later learning to play both flute and saxophone. Andrea's love of opera was also apparent from an early age, and he feels he was destined to sing. "I was one of those children who would always be asked to sing for my relatives. I don't think one really decides to be a singer - other people decide it for you by their reactions".
SOME OF THE GUESTS IN MY APARTMENTS WERE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE MET ANDREA OR ANDREA'S MOTHER AND HAD THEIR PHOTOS TAKEN WITH THEM.
